Material from late AC/DC singer Bon Scott features songs he recorded with his first band, the Spektors, and later the Valentines. Some of the Spektors material is pulled from a television broadcast, so the sound quality is poor. The Valentines section sounds much better. The compilation features a 23-minute interview with co-founder and co-lead vocalist Vince Lovegrove.

I due ottimi dischi di studio pubblicati nel 2023 facevano presagire che la band stesse attraversando un periodo particolarmente radioso, ma nel caso ci fossero ancora dubbi questo nuovo album dal vivo registrato a Roma nella suggestiva location dell'Auditorium Parco della Musica lo scorso 3 giugno è in grado di fugarli completamente, perché si tratta di una performance spettacolare con brani dal repertorio classico e pezzi nuovi che testimoniano come i National possano essere considerati una delle migliori alternative band in circolazione. 21 canzoni potenti e emezionanti che documentano lo stato di grazia che i National stanno vivendo in questi ultimi tempi.

Registrazioni inedite di un concerto che la bravissima cantante aveva teneuto poco tempo prima della sua triste scomparsa in un piccolo locale del Maryland. Si tratta di una performance molto intima in cui la vocalist interpreta voce e chitarra alcuni classici come Fever, Ain't no sunshine, Summertime, Desperado accompagnata da una piccola band formata da Chris Biondo al basso, Keith Grimes alla chitarra elettrica e Bruno Nasta al violino. Un concerto che emoziona e addirittura commuove come raramente succede.

L'amicizia tra Costello e il celebre produttore e musicista T-Bone Burnett risale alla prima metà degli anni '80 quando si esibirono insieme per qualche concerto suonando classici del country e del rock'n'roll, oggi i due hanno pensato di dar corpo a quelle idee con un disco inciso tra Memphis, New York, Los Angeles Nashville e Londra con musicisti come Colin Linden, Dennis Crouch, Jay Bellerose e Russ Pahl. Atteso come un ritorno al passato, dopo alcune prove di qualità inferiore, il disco è stato registrato in sole tre settimane allo Shangri-La di Malibu, in California. Tra le canzoni che danno una spinta al disco, possiamo citare Sacred of Fear, React Respond, Wreckage, Dark Matter, Setting Sun e Something Special.

Ship To Shore è un disco elettrico, prodotto e registrato negli studi Applehead vicino a Woodstock insieme alla sua live band, dove suonano la moglie Zara Phillips, Bobby Eichorn alla seconda chitarra, Taras Prodaniuk al basso e Michael Jerome alla batteria, con in alcuni brani il violino di David Mansfield (era nella band di Dylan, molti anni fa). Un disco più folk, rispetto al precedente, con ballate elettriche ma anche richiami ai Fairport Convention. Un disco che riavvicinerà i fans al suono del grande musicista inglese.
Il nuovo album della coppia al femminile, ormai abbastanza conosciuta anche nella nostra penisola. Il nuovo lavoro, Self Made Man, presenta le due ragazze ( Rebecca e Megan Lovell ) al meglio della loro creatività, tra umori sudisti, ballate classiche, brani blues oriented e tipiche composizioni rock. Niente di nuovo, è vero, ma suonato in modo molto professionale, arrangiato con mesterie e studiato in modo minuzioso sino alla nota meno importante, per piacere al proprio pubblico. l

Wilber è al terzo lavoro. Cresciuto come sideman, sopratutto alla corte di John Prine, Jason si è fatto poi le ossa come autore. Ed in questo disco, pur interpretando anche canzoni di altri ( lo stesso Prine, Elvis Presley ), sa convincere con le sue.
