Dopo la pubblicazione di Good Times !, il disco nuovo della band californiana, uscito lo scorso mese di Giugno, la Rhino mette sul mercato un triplo album, una sorta di antologia definitiva che serva da introduzione alla band. 50 canzoni, con tutti i classici, ma anche brani rimixati ex novo, registrazioni dal vivo, brani rari ed altre leccornie. Per chi non ha nulla della band californiana, ma anche per chi ha già qualcosa, ma nulla di così esaustivo.
Incredibile, ma vero. I Monkees si sono riuniti, nella formazione originale ( Michael Nesmith, Mickey Dolenz, Peter Tork. E C'è persino la voce del non dimenticato Davy Jones in qualche brano ). Ed hanno inciso un disco vero, di canzoni rock, con composizioni scritte apposta per la band californiana da Neil Diamond, Ben Gibbard, Rivers Cuomo, Andy Partridge, Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller ed altri.
