Prodotto da Cate Le Bon, il terzo album della band inglese ha un suono più stratificato e diversificato che oltre agli strumenti usualii dei quattro (canto, chitarra, basso e batteria) prevede l'inserimentoo di synth, batterie programmate, clarinetto basso, sax tenore, piano e in un brano c'è anche Jeff Tweedy alla seconda chitarra. Gli elementi cardine del loro suono affascinante e personalissimo del gruppo rimangono gli stessi: la voce calda di Florence Shaw con le sue narrazioni lunari, le invenzioni chitarristiche di Tom Dowse, il basso funkeggiante di Lewis Maynard e la batteria ipnotica di Nick Buxton. Diverso quanto basta dai dischi precedenti, Secret Love suona insomma come una porta aperta sul futuro ancora tutto da scrivere della band inglese. Edizione limitata color albicocca.
