Registrato ad Atlanta, Georgia, questo è il nono disco in studio di Belle & Sebastian. Con la produzione di Ben H. Allen III, la popolare band prende una direzione sonora leggermente diversa, incorporando nel proprio sound anche elementi americani ed aprendo quindi il suono ad un maggiore uso di chitarre.Un disco che conferma il valore della band e che, probabilmente, è destinato ad aprire nuovi orizzonti alla band.
Uscito più di un anno fa, questo disco sta cominciando a rendere celebre il suo autore. Amante delle bellezza, sia artistica che paesaggistica. Carey fa dei ritratti in musica. Ma le sue canzoni sono veramente affascinanti. Infatti questo album, che trae ispirazione dai libri di John Muir, travalica il semplice rapporto autore/ opera, per dare all'ascoltatore qualche cosa di diverso, di nuovo. Una fascinazione da cui è difficile rimanere esenti.
Duo garage blues che proviene dall'Irlanda, con radici nel suono dei primi Black Keys o dei White Stripes. Andrew McGibbon Jr, Vox and guitar, e Chris McMullan, drums. Suono ruvido, secco, diretto. Chitarra vibrante, batteria incombente. La band, che sta avendo un ottimo seguito in Europa, è pronta al grande salto, gli Stati Uniti.

Carù consigliaImportatiI Wood Brothers sono una band di stile Americana, ma con diverse frecce nel proprio arco. Infatti non sono una band country, perchè nel loro sound abbiamo anche blues, jazz e soul. Rimescolano in modo creativo vari stili, abbondano in idee ed hanno un suono decisamente ben costruito, fresco ed innovativo. Chris Wood, Olver Wood e Jonathan Rix hanno un passato in gruppi jazz ( basta ricordare Medeski Martin & Wood ) e queste rende il loro sound ancora più aperto ed interessante. Le canzoni di Heart Is The Hero seguono il dedalo della strade blu, che da Nashville porta a Memphis e poi giù, lungo le rive del Mississippi, fino a New Orleans.
Joe Perry è il chitarrista degli Aerosmith, uno dei chitarristi più famosi e considerati nell'ambito della musica rock internazionale. Questo suo lavoro da solista, molto ambizioso, vedei coinvolti anche Robin Zander ( Cheap Trick ), David Johansen ( New York Dolls), Terry Reid. C'è anche Johnny Depp, l'attore, che suona la batteria in Eve of Destruction. Un disco di classico ( hard) rock, come si usava una volta. Vinile 180 grammi, stampa Usa. PURPLE & WHITE WRIL COLOR.
