Le registrazioni del Plugged Nickel documentano il Secondo Grande Quintetto che rivoluziona l'improvvisazione in tempo reale, scartando le certezze e trasformando le note “sbagliate” in rivelazioni. Sony Legacy ripubblicherà un cofanetto di tutti e sette i set di The Complete Plugged Nickel Sessions nel gennaio 2026 come primo passo di un anno di celebrazioni per il centenario di Miles Davis e pubblicherà uno dei set completi più entusiasmanti, con oltre un'ora di brani familiari rivisitati, tra cui standard come “All Of You” e “My Funny Valentine” e brani originali di Miles come “So What” o “Agitation”, in un'edizione in doppio LP su vinile nero per l'RSD Black Friday. 5900 copie in tutto il Mondo.
