Dopo 40 anni di carriera e 23 album alle spalle, solo oggi il cantante e chitarrista califoniano ha realizzato il disco più crudo e blues della sua carriera. Un connubio vincente tra brani originali e canzoni eseguite dai suoi amici e idoli, il disco presenta 13 tracce di blues elettrico ispirato a gente come Stevie Ray Vaughan o Magic Slim, gente che suonava allo stremo, con slide tirate a lucido sfoderando assolo a profusione.

LP. Appaloosa Records, 1985, IT. Terzo album del violinista fondatore dei Country Gazette con il progetto Sundance e ospiti come i chitarristi Albert Lee e Vince Gill e il banjoista Jon Hickman.

Per la prima volta pubblicate nella loro interezza le registrazioni del concerto del grande chitarrista jazz a The Five Spot Cafe di New York del 25 agosto 1959 insieme a Art Blakey e a Tina Brooks al sassofono, Bobby Timmons e Roland Hanna al piano e Ben Tucker al basso. Contiene un corposo libretto con saggi e foto inedite.

2LP. Atlantic, 1972, USA. Ristampa della raccolta che contiene il disco Don't Turn Me from Your Door registrato a Cincinnati in Ohio nel 1953 a cui aggiunge canzoni registrate a Miami in Florida nel 1961.

LP. Jubilee Records/ Fresh Sound Records, 1988, SP. Ristampa dell'esordio originariamente in 10" della giovane cantante e attrice americana nata in Tennessee e figlia del chitarrista e cantante Bill Bergen. Secondo la critica capace di identificarsi come nessun altro con la malinconia dei brani qui proposti e "interpretando con un misto di ardore e tenerezza alcuni grandi standards" accompagnata dalle note del pianista e arrangiatore Jack Kelly.

LP. BYG Records, 1971, FR. Registrazioni d'archivio del grande clarinettista jazz effettuate a New York il 21 marzo e il 6 aprile del 1940 con il quartetto Bechet-Spanier Big Four composto da Bechet al clarinetto, Muggsy Spanier alla cornetta, Carmen Mastren alla chitarra e Wellman Braud al basso.

LP. CBS, 1983, USA. Album in trio con Bill Dickens al contrabbasso e Frank Donaldson alla batteria, ma con un ampio parterre di musicisti ospiti in varie canzoni. Il pianista soul jazz si tiene al passo con i tempi da un lato interpretando brani di musica classica come Essence of Love un adattamento di Chopin e dall'altro aprendosi a sintetizzatori e all'eletronica in voga nel periodo.

Il nuovo album e secondo per la prestigiosa etichetta Blue Note del sassofonista americano è una raccolta di composizioni originali che funge da introduzione del suo nuovo quartetto con il pianista Paul Cornish, il bassista Philip Norris e il batterista Nazir Ebo, che si è formato come band per il tour mondiale del disco precedente. Dopo l'esperienza dal vivo, il sassofonista ha deciso di portare i musicisti in studio per registrare una serie di brani composti durante la pandemia che attraversano diversi stati d'animo che esprimono malinconia, tristezza e determinazione. L'album presenta anche apparizioni speciali della sassofonista Melissa Aldana, del trombettista Skylar Tang e della cantante Gabrielle Cavassa.

Box 4CD (formato LP) con libro di 160 pagine con copertina rigida, 88 brani. Durata approssimativa: 262 minuti. Songs Of The Depression: Boom, Bust And The New Deal esamina gli effetti del crollo economico attraverso il mezzo della canzone popolare. Partendo dalla follia del boom del mercato azionario alla fine degli anni '20, ripercorre le politiche confuse e spesso assurde e falsamente ottimistiche del governo nei primi mesi della crisi, attraverso la triste consapevolezza della gente che il governo li aveva delusi, fino all'euforia esagerata e all'irriverenza giovanile dell'era del New Deal. I folli sbalzi d'umore del periodo si riflettono in 88 canzoni come Tips On The Stock Market di Eddie Cantor, Hallelujah I'm A Bum di Al Jolson, 10 Cents A Dance di Ruth Etting, There's No Depression In Love di Vincent Rose, I'm An Unemployed Sweetheart di Lee Morse, If I Ever Get A Job Again di Gene Kardo, Boulevard Of Broken Dreams di Connee Boswell e il duetto di Louis Armstrong con i Mills Brothers in WPA. E, naturalmente, Bing Crosby interpreta l'inno più struggente della Grande Depressione, Brother Can You Spare A Dime. 78 giri originali provenienti dalle collezioni di Michael Brooks, Harry Coster, Roger Robles e Jim Shepherd.

LP. Il trio britannico d'impronta folk e d'ispirazione Americana con già diversi alle spalle si prende il rischio di rifare per intero un capolavoro come Deja Vu di Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young e per quanto l'occasione possa sembrare rischiosa, alla fine risulta perfettamente riuscita. Ci sono odue voci femminili che fanno la differenza e la musica spazia tra folk rock e psichedelia in maniera tipicamente anni sessanta. Le canzoni swono tutte dei capolavori e i ragazzi le interpretano con personalità se non aggiungendo qualcosa, almeno offrendono una diversa e entusiasmante prospettiva.
