Billy F. Gibbons, leader dei ZZ Top, ormai sta pensando più alla sua carriera come solista, che a quella di frontman del trio texano più famoso di sempre. Dopo Perfectamundo e The Big Bad Blues, Billy Gibbons ritorna, con Hardware, ad un suono più rock e meno blues. Hardware, registrato con gli stessi musicisti di Big Bad Blues è un disco solido e vibrante, denso di ballate elettriche e di brani più propriamente rock. Unica eccezione, la cover, originale per altro, di Hey Baby, Que Paso, noto brano dei Los Texas Tornados. Vinile limitato, picture disc. 4000 copie a livello mondiale.
